Kodaline, Gavin James and The Coronas got together to sing Fairytale of New York in a Dublin pub

The last Doyle’s Ruby Sessions of the year was a doozy.

THE TUESDAY NIGHT Ruby Sessions gigs in Doyle’s pub have attained a sort of mythical status for Dubliners, with anyone from Ed Sheeran to Damien Rice likely to show up for a few tunes.

Regulars are probably kicking themselves that they didn’t head down to this week’s gig, as it turned out to be quite the Christmassy treat.

The headliners were purposefully kept secret, but turned out to be a mighty trio consisting of Kodaline, Gavin James and The Coronas.

An impressive enough lineup by itself, but they were later joined by a small army of Irish musicians including Roisin O, Hudson Taylor, Little Hours and Craig Gallagher to sing a cover of Fairytale of New York:

All this is whetting our appetite for Bono and Glen Hansard’s annual Christmas Eve busk. Who else could possibly turn out?
